BION teen camp is going to be Tuesday to Saturday, August 18-22. It's for people who have completed grades 6-12 and it's fun! The staff orientation is August 17. What is BION? Believe It or Not is a 5 day summer camp adventure where fun, friends, learning and God come together. It's created by Youth Ministries of the Episcopal Diocese of Maine. The Co-Chairs of Diocesan Youth are: Alyssa Withee (senior from St. Matthew's in Hallowell, Anna Lee (senior from St. Giles in Jefferson) and Wayne Franklin (adult from St. Peter's in Portland). Their role is to advise the Youth Missioners.
Big Jon and friends are leading a youth group in Portland every other Thursday night called The Next Supper. The brand new Youth Group and dinner for middle and high schoolers at St. Luke's Cathedral. The Diocesan Youth Mission Team is in the Dominican Republic until July 8. The team has worked very hard to raise money for this project and they have been preparing for over a year to serve in a village in Jalonga, Dominican Republic. Please keep them in your prayers.
WANTED: Some high school youths willing to spend an hour or so designing the publicity and arrangements for the 2009 Peace Essay/Poetry Contest, sponsored by Episcopal Peace Fellowship-Maine. Please contact Fr. Jim Gill, meamft2@aol.com or 582-8802, if you are interested.
Are there new people teaching or leading grades 6 – 12 at your church? If so, could you please give us their names, positions and e-mails? That way, we can do more to support them in their ministry to teens.

BISHOPSWOOD SUMMER CAMP
June 28 - August 15 for grades 2-9 Camp Bishopswood
Summer camp made simple at Bishopswood. Campers experience community Christian living with friends from the diocese and beyond. Sessions are one week and multiple sessions are encouraged. The Fall Middle School Event will be held October 16-18, 2009 at Grace Church, Bath. A weekend of fun, faith and new friends.The leadership training will be September 25-26 at Grace Church, Bath.
Youth at Convention: Friday, October 23 for grades 6-12 at the Bangor Civic Center. Youth will serve as pages at this annual diocesan meeting. Friday night youth and adults serve dinner to benefit the international mission project.
Happening 2009 will be held November 20-22 at Christ Church, Gardiner. It is a deep weekend for high schoolers put on by highschoolers. The leadership training will be of November 6-8 at Christ Church, Gardiner.
